We kept coming back for lunch or dinner during our eight days in Sumbawa. The Fish Tacos and salmon bao buns were my favorites, and everything was so good that this was the best restaurant in the area for us. Some meals took a little while, but they were freshly made and absolutely worth waiting for.

The beach view was so peaceful, which I hadn't expected, and our two-night stay was just right. The restaurant was great too: the menu is extensive, everything is made to order, and it all tasted delicious. I couldn't have asked for a better stay.

The place itself is beautiful, but the service from the receptionist and bar/restaurant manager was very poor. At check-in she gave us prices with and without breakfast. Only after we paid did she explain that breakfast was limited to a few options, with no coffee included. The next day, when we asked whether several menu items were available for lunch, the same woman was extremely rude and rough with us.

We didn't stay at Balong Balong, but we ate at the restaurant a lot, for breakfast and dinner. Of all the places we tried, this was our favorite: the food was fresh, delicious, and consistently great quality. The menu has so many good choices. Service can take a while, but with that beautiful view and food this good, waiting didn't bother us. The staff were lovely and polite too. I wish places back in Aus made food as fresh as Balong Balong. Thank you 🩷

The food was unreal, so we ate here every day of our Sumbawa stay. It usually took around 40 minutes for a meal to come out, but it was worth the wait.
