I chose this place for my first stay in Semarang, even though there were lots of options. I was aiming for a budget below 180,000 Rupiah a night, and this Airy fit what I had in mind. Getting around was easy. It's on Jalan Pamularsih beside Indomaret, so grabbing anything from the shop is just a short walk. Sam Poo Kong Temple is only a few kilometers away, and there's a museum across the road that I didn't get a chance to visit. The airport is nearby too. You can hear planes now and then, but the noise wasn't loud enough to keep me from resting. My friend and I had what I think was a Superior Double room. On arrival at Griya Pangestu Guest House, I told reception I'd booked through Airy. They took the key, noted my ID and either my KTP or SIM, and kept it as security until checkout the next day. We were in room 102, just by reception, but it stayed quiet. The third floor was being renovated while we were there. Parking is limited, around three cars and five motorcycles at most. The room was simple and pleasant, with wooden furniture, a soft bed, two big pillows, a little Airy pillow, and a fairly thick blanket. It was so comfy that my friend and I accidentally slept for four hours. The AC cooled the room well. We also got six snacks, two bottles of mineral water, and a pouch with a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and shower gel. There were two outlets for charging, a clothes rail in the closet, and a table under the TV. The bathroom was small, but everything worked; the towels did feel a bit damp. Staff were friendly and even asked which way we were heading home. They also reminded us to check for anything left behind. The amenities aren't extensive, but after a full day of touring, it was a comfortable place to rest, and the price worked for me.

It was straightforward to find since it's right along the main road. The electricity kept cutting out during my night there, though, roughly seven times. I can't say whether it was a broader outage or something else, but I hope they get it sorted.

The staff were kind and helpful, and both the room and its smell were clean and pleasant. The rate seemed reasonable, too. It's also very close to the airport. We recommend reserving through the AiryRooms app.
