Arteri Guest House By Oyo Room

The room I was moved to was filthy, with hair and rubbish left around. They called it ready after I’d gone up just one floor. Earlier, the AC in my first room wasn’t working and took ages to address. The toilet there wouldn’t open, so I was told to use the public one by the kitchen, even though there was a toilet inside. They also said one of the two available rooms was for my child. I’d only stayed because I arrived in Semarang the night before a job interview. Towels and water came only after I checked in, and the mother told me the price was 100,000 Rupiah even though I’d booked at a promotional rate. A really bad experience.

The room was dirty and smelled neglected, and there was grime all over the bathroom. I’d already booked through the app, but the receptionist told me the AC was broken and said, casually, that there was only one room left: take it or find somewhere else. Really poor service. The owner should improve both the place and the way guests are treated.

The water was the worst part, it looked murky black, so how was I supposed to shower? When I raised it with the owner, all I got was, “That’s it,” with no apology or responsibility. The bed dipped, its metal parts were exposed and bent inward, the room and bathroom were filthy despite being described as cleaned, the towels were dirty, and the sheets and pillows smelled. The AC wasn’t cold either. We’d paid through the app, and the owner knew canceling wouldn’t get us a refund, so I was already fed up and went straight to find another hotel. I regret not taking a photo. This is an OYO, but it doesn’t meet OYO standards. We were on the 3rd floor. I can’t say what the 2nd floor is like.

The bed left me sore. In the morning, when I headed to work, the power had been switched off from outside, though it turned out the other rooms still had electricity. The AC downstairs was fairly cold. The bathroom water wasn’t clear at first, its light was dim, and the TV had been switched off centrally. There was no STB yet.
