ASSA Hotel Semarang

The room was a decent size and laid out nicely, and the hotel has a pleasant feel. It looked new and modern for the price. The front desk was friendly and efficient, and I was lucky to check in an hour early. A few things made the stay disappointing. There’s no breakfast or other meals, and they couldn’t provide ice cubes, drinks, or even iced water. Each room has a refillable water bottle, and there seems to be a dispenser on every floor, but the cold-water setting didn’t work, only lukewarm and hot. I later noticed what looked like a working dispenser in the corner by the front desk. They also won’t lend out plates or cutlery. It costs Rp 5,000,-/item, so takeaway food that needs a plate isn’t a great option. Some staff, especially in housekeeping, seemed young and at times indifferent or inattentive to guests. When I arrived, there was no security guard or staff member on hand to direct parking, even though the parking area is narrow and packed. I would have appreciated help with where to park. I later realized the front desk staff were inside their booth and perhaps didn’t know guests were arriving or leaving. These may not bother everyone, but it’s a shame if they bring down the hotel’s rating and performance. I hope management takes them into account and makes improvements so Assa Hotel can do better. I’m writing this because I want to see a better Assa Hotel, and would appreciate a thoughtful reply showing a real commitment to improving, rather than a template-bot-reply-for-Google-review.
