Aston Inn Pandanaran - Semarang

For $150 per night, I expected a much better stay. The room was small and run down, the water heater was broken, and the bathroom was tiny. There was no restaurant, only outside parking, and the noise at night was unacceptable. I stayed at several Aston hotels over the last couple of days, and this was the worst one.

I’d booked a double bed several days ahead, but was given twin beds joined together with a few thin extra mattresses on top. It was very uncomfortable. I complained to Mr Khamdu at reception, but his only response was “sorry, can’t do it.” He didn’t offer a solution or even try to find an option, which was really disappointing service and brought down the Aston level. Case closed. Mr Ony as Duty Mgr fixed the problem quickly by moving me to another room with a double bed. Many thanks, I really appreciated the quick action.

It’s easy to find, and both the service and rooms are excellent. I’ll definitely keep my staycation journey with Aston going.

The rooftop pool and breakfast restaurant up there were the highlights of my stay. There’s also a gym and spa inside the hotel. Overall, a good hotel.
