Bollata Bintang Beach Hotel

The omelette at breakfast was especially delicious, and there was plenty of hot water. The beach houses are lovely, right by the sea, and the people were very kind and helpful. The rooms are well equipped. The upstairs one has a better view, but it gets much hotter than the downstairs rooms and is harder to cool. During our two weeks, we were only asked about cleaning once, the day before we left, so we had to request it ourselves. I guess that’s just how it works. It wasn’t an issue for us. The shower was cold, and the room didn’t get completely dark, but neither bothered me much. Still, I had an amazing stay.

The owners were so friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. That’s why I’m still giving it five stars. The rooms have lots of gaps from the poor construction, though, so mosquitoes can get in. Mosquito nets would be an easy fix, but there aren’t any yet. Spraying in the morning and evening before we went out seemed to keep the bites away. On our last night, someone was burning things behind the property. The smoke came through the gaps and filled the room. That wasn’t the property’s fault, but I was glad to leave. Great location, too.

Right by the ocean, and everything about this place felt amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly, breakfast was delicious, and everything worked perfectly. It’s such a cozy, charming spot on Gili Air that I wanted to stay longer and come back again. Highly recommend it!
