DS Residence Sinabung

A comfortable, affordable spot for a family vacation, close to downtown and lots of food stalls.

We only stayed one night while in transit, and it worked well for that. The location and service were superb, and the amenities were good. Our room was on the second floor, reached by stairs, with no lift. There was internet and a refrigerator in the room, but no bottled water or water jug. Recommended for a transit stop.

The staff were friendly, quick to respond, and really helpful with my late check-in and early morning check-out. I enjoyed staying here: the room was clean and comfortable, access was easy, and it came with a clean towel, soap and toothbrush. There’s also free water refill and internet.

You get enough for the price, though it’s a standard place that could be better. The room is small, with a little cabinet, a closet, a TV with limited cable channels, a water-heating jug, fridge, shower and toilet. I only got one towel, even though toothbrushes, mineral water and glasses were provided for two. On arrival, the room smelled of smoke and was a bit damp. The bedding and pillows weren’t great, but I could sleep. The bathroom is quite small and might feel claustrophobic to some. You can rent by the month if you want. The garage is small, so if you have a car you may need to park outside.
