Hotel Puri Garden

I spent a full month here with my dog after looking for a pet-friendly place in Semarang, and the hotel met my expectations overall. It’s a big, older hotel that’s still comfortable, with friendly staff, spacious rooms, and a private garage. Each room has a garden out front where you can take your dog for a morning or afternoon stroll. It’s not far from the Krapyak exit, and Marina Beach and Paragon Mall are within driving distance. Some rooms haven’t been renovated, and parts of the hotel, especially the bathrooms, need work. But my four-legged friend was happy, and that was enough for me ❤️

There’s plenty of good food nearby, and the room was okay and easy to find, with its own parking spot for the car, which was a plus. The hotel is close to Ahmad Yani Airport, though a bit far from the city center. The only downside was that there was no TV cable.

The food was so-so, but the place itself is great. It feels different from other hotels, with a spacious garden, a nice view, and large, comfortable rooms. Each room has its own parking spot or garage, and the paved roads in front of the garages are comfortable to drive on.

Update: As of January 2023, this is no longer a pet-friendly hotel. Please check with the hotel before booking, since older reviews say pets are welcome. We arrived close to midnight, around 11 PM, with a reservation, but the staff turned us away after seeing our cat in his cage. They wouldn’t make an exception, though thankfully the booking was refundable. We had to look for somewhere else to stay in the middle of the night.
