Kala Hotel Semarang

Busro at the rooftop bar took time to tell me about places to visit in Semarang, and the views from up there are great. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my one-night stay. My room was spacious, clean, and modern, and I enjoyed the varied breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with the very nice coffee downstairs. I’d definitely return.

The crew were kind and the location is convenient. My room was nice too. Thanks for the warm hospitality.

The view is good, and the place is neat and lovely. For my first stay, I found the service and rooms good, and I liked the style. The price is decent, though breakfast is required. It wasn't bad, but this city has so much food to try that it would be better to offer a lower rate without breakfast through other apps.

The rooftop has a good view, but the selection was very limited. They were out of Bintang beer, and Sunset Island wasn’t available. The rooftop may be what KALA advertises, but the service really needs work. At breakfast, food had been set out on our first morning, but nobody was in the restaurant when we arrived. On the last night, dirty tables hadn’t been cleared. The food was ready, but there was no waiter or waitress, and no water or coffee. I called reception twice and waited 20 minutes before someone came. I wouldn’t recommend breakfast if you have a morning meeting or appointment. After another 30 minutes, coffee finally arrived cold, with lots of grounds in the jug because it hadn’t been stirred properly. When I asked, the waiter said, “That’s the only what we have right now.” What kind of hospitality is that? We stayed at Kala for three days and two nights. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the room was okay, though there were lots of spots on the wall beside the bed. The bathroom smelled from the drain. Housekeeping came quickly to fix that, but the shower head didn’t work properly and the water pressure was poor. Kala really needs to improve its service, hospitality, and cleanliness standards.
