Louis Kienne Hotel Simpang Lima

The slow check-in was frustrating even though I'd reserved online. The towels smelled strongly unpleasant, as if they hadn't been cleaned properly. At the restaurant, the menu showed plenty of options, but nearly everything I tried to order was unavailable. The food was also priced higher than its taste and quality justified. I thought the hotel would be great, but it fell short in several ways, especially for the price. I hope they improve things.

The food was pretty good. It's a good place overall, but the parking area is narrow and not very comfortable.

The location is the hotel's strongest point. The rooms have no extra bed and feel dark, with just 3 sky lights. I requested an extra bed and got no reply. Service was disappointing too, I had to repeat a phone number three times to the receptionist.

Update: the manager eventually came and offered compensation for the late check-in. That was a good gesture, though better management could have prevented the problem. The restaurant is tiny and the food choices are very limited. For the price, it isn't worth it. The location is the only good thing. I got there at 4 PM and my room still wasn't ready. I asked to speak to the manager, but the receptionist kept delaying, apparently so we wouldn't have to talk. At first there was no compensation, even though the room wasn't ready at FOUR PM. I waited another 30 minutes before they showed me to it. The room was decent, but the AC wasn't very cold and the sliding bathroom door was hard to push. Hospitality and room quality were poor. There's a holiday inn next door, go there if you want your money's worth.
