Oyo Flagship 2124 Kars Inn Semarang

The room layout is a nice touch, with a balcony and the bathroom set on it, and there was plenty of basement parking for both motorbikes and cars. I was satisfied with my stay and would come back. The building looks new, and the bedroom was clean and comfortable. They provided body lotion, and the AC stayed cold and steady. The bathroom was clean, with a nonslip floor and reliable hot water, plus towels, multipurpose soap, and toothbrushes. We did have to use a towel as a floor mat since none was provided. The only other downside was that the TV had only Asian and Korean channels.

I stayed June 3-4 and got a low rate with an OYO voucher. The toilet wasn't very clean, and the mirrors should have had curtains. There were no toiletries, so I had to ask the staff, and they didn't provide drinking water even though bottled water is standard for OYO. When I complained, the staff said nothing. They weren't very friendly either. Then at checkout, THE STAFF FORGOT TO RETURN MY ID CARD. It felt unprofessional. Anyone staying here should be ready for an unpleasant experience.

The hotel is good in principle, but it wasn't ready to open, and the service was very bad. I booked a DELUXE room, but waited at check-in because it wasn't prepared. First the electricity wouldn't turn on, so they moved me. Then the hot water didn't work, and I was asked to wait another half hour. In the end, I was temporarily put in a STANDARD room. I know it's a new hotel with plenty of things still needing work, but repairmen were still around and quite annoying. The floor was dirty, and the maid came in wearing shoes to check the bathroom water, leaving shoe prints that weren't cleaned up.

The bed was soft, the staff were friendly, and there was an elevator. Still, a few things were off: the bathroom door wouldn't lock, the AC wasn't cold enough, and the hot water kept switching from hot to cold. The TV service also disappeared in the morning, so I couldn't watch anything. Everything else was fine.
