RedDoorz @ Jalan Gatot Subroto Semarang

The room was tiny for what I ended up paying, the bathroom wasn't clean, the drain under the sink leaked, and I couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi. I had booked in the ReDoors app for 99,000 Rupiah and paid that amount, but at check-in they wanted another 81,000 Rupiah for an upgrade, bringing the total to 180,000 Rupiah for one room and one night. They gave no reason, and said I'd be moved to another ReDoor if I refused. Since it was late and I was tired, I felt I had to pay. The location shown on the app map was also quite far off. The room wasn't worth the price. Why does RedDoor show a different price from what they actually charge?

The reception staff were friendly and reasonable, but the stay itself wasn't worth the money. The room quality was poor for the price. I know it's a budget hotel and wasn't expecting much, but it should still be reasonably priced. In my view, OYO and RedDorz should set rates that fit the local market. A rate of 100,000 Rupiah makes sense to me, but they're charging 200,000 Rupiah. The app maps are wrong, so don't rely on them to find the place. RedDorz showed 100,000 Rupiah, while the hotel price was 200,000 Rupiah. On arrival, you have to pay the extra 100,000 Rupiah or cancel and risk losing the booking. I don't blame the receptionists, I think the owner hasn't kept prices updated on RedDorz or OYO, so they don't match.

My money is gone. I booked through WhatsApp after they said there was just one room left and asked me to transfer payment. Then they requested another deposit. After I sent that, they told me to scan a QR code in my mobile banking and pay again. When I asked why, they got angry and blocked my number. Don't book this RedDoorz. This is a scam.

I only stayed once, and it was enough to make it my last visit. Finding the place took me over an hour because the map location was wrong and there was no contact information. The receptionist was curt and indifferent, and I was asked for another 30,000 Rupiah on the spot. The room was stuffy and not soundproof. There wasn't any mineral water, toothpaste, or toothbrush, and the TV signal kept cutting out. Very disappointing 🙏
