RedDoorz Near Kota Lama Semarang

It's close to kota lama, and that's about the only good thing. I've never stayed somewhere worse, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. Don't stay here if you're considering it. The place was filthy, from the bed and floor to the walls and especially the bathroom. There were no towels, the TV didn't work, the Wi-Fi was slow, and roaches were everywhere. The staff were unfriendly and spoke to us like we were thieves.

Getting around was easy, with angkot and online transport nearby, though I'm not sure about TransSemarang. There's a large parking area, and Kota Lama in Semarang is close. The service was somewhat excellent: staff cleaned the rooms daily, changed towels, and regularly refilled the mineral water in each room. The warm water also worked properly. They should make the no-smoking rule clearer and remind guests to keep quiet at night. The empty water gallons on each floor need regular checking, too. They should check the body soap, soap, and sampoo as well, though it was okay for me since I brought my own sampoo and body soap.

I stayed here for a few days while sorting out the legality of my house certificate in semarang city. The location was my favorite part, close to the city, and there's an apotek, minimarket, and angkringan within walking distance. I also liked the roomy bike parking, the affordable price, and the room's AC, TV, little storage unit, small table, and windows. The room wasn't very clean, but it was good enough for me. I'm not OCD, so overall it was okay.

The room was acceptable for the price, and the bathroom could use more cleaning. The AC and Wi-Fi were good, but phone reception disappeared completely inside the room. Both check-in and check-out went smoothly. The place is in the city centre, somewhat hidden, but you can reach it from MT Haryono Street. The receptionist was just fine, though it would've been friendlier to greet guests on arrival and say goodbye when they leave.
