Sisingamangaraja Guest House Semarang

SGH feels like home to me, and insyaallah my sister will have her wedding here this year too. I got married here in 2023 and was really happy with how it turned out. Mr. Tatang, the GM, was helpful. The catering was okay and enough for my guests. I stayed in the VIP Room. It was clean and spacious, with a huge bathroom and bathtub, and the air conditioning worked well.

The room phone didn't work at all, and the pool can sting your eyes, lol. On the plus side, there are separate WiFi networks for the deluxe rooms, lobby, and second floor. I used the lobby connection and got around 3 Mbps both up and down.

The service was okay and I had no issues with it, but wedding events by the pool make the guest house very noisy, so it's hard to rest comfortably. Since guests come here to sleep, please consider their comfort when holding events like that.

For less than 300k idr, we got a really nice stay at Sisingamangaraja Guest House. We ended up staying in Semarang because of traffic and found this homestay on OTA. We arrived at 1am, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was much better than expected: spacious, with a queen-size bed, a single chair, and nicely done vintage decor. The sheets were neat and clean, the towels thick and fragrant, and the amenities were complete. We made a cup of tea that night, and it was great and scented. TV and WiFi both worked well, and the AC kept the room comfortable without making it too cold or stuffy. The bathroom was roomy too, and both hot and cold shower settings worked properly. It had toothbrushes, soap, and tissues. In the morning, opening the curtain revealed a cool-looking pool and outdoor area, and there was a balcony where we could relax. A water dispenser in the hallway was a thoughtful touch. We had a really nice experience and would recommend it to relatives or friends. We'll definitely come back someday when we're in town. I hope Sisingamangaraja Guest House can keep up this quality. Best of luck!
