OYO 90549 Tumesa Homestay

Be careful booking here. I made a reservation through the Agoda app three days ahead, but the homestay wouldn’t accept it, saying I hadn’t confirmed, even though Agoda still showed availability. They also refused to remove the listing. Looking through other comments, I found that people booking through Oyo and similar apps had run into the same problem. The management of bookings is poor, and the risk isn’t worth it 👎

On my second stay, the room was tidy and clean, and the staff were welcoming. The kitchen has cooking tools and water for making coffee. The bathroom could use some attention: there’s no soap or toothbrush, and the shower head is so small that more water seems to go through the toilet flush. It takes a long time to shower, so I hope they fix it. Thanks.

I spent a week here while enjoying Semarang. For around 100,000 Rupiah, the place was affordable and had clean rooms and toilets. There were mirrors, a table, chairs, and a clothesline in the room, plus a shared kitchen for making noodles or coffee. Thanks.

This was the first time in my life I’d been turned away from a Traveloka check-in. I’d come all the way from Ponorogo and was already worn out from the trip to Semarang. At 2:00 PM they said the place was full, though the original reason was that they wouldn’t accept the rate. I’ve stayed there before for 85,000 Rupiah, and 100,000 Rupiah seems fair to me for somewhere on the outskirts of Semarang. If a low rate won’t be accepted, don’t list it at that price. It puts an extra burden on people who are already struggling. I booked through Traveloka, not Oyo. Oh dear.
