We booked a walk through the rice fields with Rocky, and it became one of the best parts of our four nights at De Klumpu. He knew so much about the plants and surrounding nature, and took us to a fantastic waterfall. The setting is beautiful, with rice fields all around and views of Mount Agung; at night, you can hear the quiet sounds of nature. The staff were kind and friendly, and we ate at the restaurant for every meal. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all made with care, and the team was happy to help with anything. They even waved goodbye when we left, which felt like a lovely personal touch. We hope to return someday.

Undisan is nearby, and it isn’t especially touristy, while waterfalls, rice field walks, and temples are still easy to reach. We loved being away from busy places like Ubud. The hotel itself was peaceful, with a beautiful view over the rice fields, and the food, room, and service were all just right. A perfect stay.

The setting among the rice fields is beautiful, and the staff are attentive. There’s a lot to enjoy on site, including good food, cooking classes, yoga, and the chance to help grow rice. The surrounding area is very quiet, though, with little nearby if you want to eat out or visit a town beyond the small village hamlets. Ideal for a few days of peace and quiet.

A really pretty hotel with great staff and a good price. One night, water dripped onto one of the beds, but it wasn’t too bad.

We loved the cooking class. The food there was the best we ate during our time in Bali! Staying at the Eco Stay also gave us a small glimpse of traditional Balinese culture. It’s a beautiful, quiet spot away from the city, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Since it’s right among the rice fields, expect bugs and geckos, and there’s no AC. It was a nice place to unplug.
