Bobocabin Gunung Rinjani Lombok

The staff were lovely and attentive, and the views are great. It's also close to the village. But the cabin is very small, with few facilities or home comforts, and felt overpriced compared with the rest of Lombok. The weather wasn't good, so we didn't get a campfire; maybe the experience is different in summer. The food was probably the worst we had during our three weeks in Indonesia, and it was expensive for what you got. The coffee was good, though, with extra charge for western style coffee. The landscaping wasn't very nice either, as they strim the grass, probably to keep the views of Mt Rigani open. We found the stay a bit underwhelming and I'm not sure we'd stay in a bobo cabin again.

The scenery around Bobocabin is beautiful, and some cabins have lovely mountain views. Customer service was generally friendly, but this stay fell short overall, which is why I changed my rating from 2 to 1 star. The cabin felt so cramped it was almost claustrophobic, and the beds were uncomfortably firm. For the price, guests should get two pillows each. There were several bugs inside that we had to catch and release ourselves, and visible mould in the room, which is a health concern. The shower was okay, but there were drainage problems. Hot water only lasted seven minutes, and although earlier reviews said management had promised to tell guests beforehand, nobody told us. That's barely enough time, especially if you need to wash your hair. We also ran out of toilet paper and couldn't find any replacement. Food was very expensive for the portions. Heavy rain kept us in the cabin on our second night, so we ordered room service, a burger and Philly sandwich. Neither was edible. I couldn't finish mine, and my husband only ate because he was hungry and there were no other food delivery options. On 12/01 I developed food poisoning from the burger. My husband was fine, since that was the only meal we didn't share. Bobocabin is an appealing concept, and I can see the novelty. Still, comfort, cleanliness, communication, and food quality need real improvement. Promises in replies to older reviews should be carried out, not just acknowledged publicly.

The peaceful atmosphere was a lovely way to unwind and disconnect. Bobocabin Rinjani is far from the airport, but the beautiful scenery made up for the long trip. The facilities matched other Bobocabin properties, modern, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and informative from the start. Before check-in, they told me my assigned room was on the lower side and might not have a direct Mount Rinjani view. Since the mountain was the reason I'd traveled all that way, I asked about the best view. They explained the options clearly and offered an upgrade for an extra IDR 200K. I was happy to take it, since waking up to that view was worth it. Breakfast was like at other locations, and being able to request a delivery time was convenient. The lobby was being maintained during my visit, so the entrance route had been adjusted a little. It wasn't a problem, but it's useful for future guests to know. I'd love to return someday. Great value, with small rooms that are clean, well designed, and well maintained. The view is good, the hot water works, and the WiFi is good too. Booking was easy, and handy features include a mobile phone room key and app based check-in and check-out. It's worth paying a little extra for a comfortable, efficient stay like Bobocabin. This is my go-to when I'm in the Sembalun region for running events.
