The staff were very friendly and helped us find transport to the ferry terminal. I also really liked the breakfast yogurt, which was creamy and the best part for me. Breakfast was mostly Indonesian food, with some Western choices like omelets, croissants, toast, and a few small pastries and breads. The outside, reception, and dining area look beautiful, and the hotel is thoughtfully designed, with private bungalow or chalet rooms, landscaped paths with water features, and an unusual pebble-floored swimming pool. There’s also a short trail and lookout points behind the hotel. The superior king bungalow was disappointing in several ways. The bathroom Formica was peeling, and it was hard to find an outlet for charging a phone or heating water. I found one hidden behind the nightstand. Hot water was difficult to get in the shower, and the bathroom was too dark for shaving, despite the transparent ceiling over the shower. Moss and weeds were growing along the bottom of the wall. I could hear the evening live music from my bungalow, starting at 8 pm on Thursday. The door also had a large gap at the top and side, as if it wasn't properly plumb. Some detail work is needed in the room and in parts of the landscaping. The grounds need a mower instead of a weed eater.

There were cute little tester snacks provided for free. This is a nice, cheaper hotel, though it isn't right on the beach or seaside. You can walk to the beach, restaurants, and convenience stores.

When a small problem came up during my stay at Aruna Senggigi Resort & Convention, the team dealt with it quickly and kept me well informed. Ms. Mayang Kristi and the whole team were especially helpful. The staff were kind and professional, and the hotel was comfortable and well located. I'd gladly stay again and recommend it.

The massage was the one disappointing part of an otherwise lovely stay. For the price, the service didn't feel worth it, and honestly it was the worst massage I've had. The therapist hadn't prepared the bed properly and just put a small towel on it, which wasn't comfortable. More training in massage technique and professional manners could improve the experience and bring it in line with the hotel's high standards. The rest of my time at Aruna Senggigi was amazing. Everyone made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived, and Opy at reception made check-in easy. She was such a sweet, attentive gem. My room was cozy and just right, with a beautiful balcony view. The gym was excellent, as was the swimming pool. I'll definitely come back for another stay. Thank you for such a lovely time 🌷
