Collection O 9 Villa Ubud Anyer

We were surprised by how spacious the villa was, and it came with a private pool and parking garage. If you’re staying a while, bring a portable stove: the small kitchen only has a sink. The bathroom wasn’t as good as I expected and had a cockroach in it. My friend’s pool was dirty too, as if someone had bathed there. The hotel isn’t right on the beach, so you have to walk or drive to the other side, though that was a minor issue. Overall, we had a satisfying stay.

There weren’t many accommodation options for us, so this place turned out to be a good choice. The housing area seems designed for people to live in and mostly for investment, which meant it was pretty quiet. We rented a private unit with two rooms, one queen bed and two twin beds, plus an indoor pool measuring 2 by 4 meters. I liked the privacy, and it’s only about 10 minutes from the beach.

We visited on a weekday, so it wasn’t crowded. There are more than 80 villas, each with a different owner, though most are operated by O collection. The location is nice, next to marbella hotel, with minimarkets just outside the complex and several well-known beaches nearby. Our villa was okay, the rooms were clean, and it had a small private pool, but the toilet was quite dirty. We had flies during the day, mosquitoes at night, and cats turning up to get at our food. It’s a nice city getaway, as long as you don’t expect a luxury villa.

I chose this place because the pool was good, and it works for a short escape. It’s about 2 by 3 meters and 80 cm deep. The TV has only a few channels, but casting from your phone works. The internet was really slow, around 2 Mbps at noon. There’s seafood nearby and nasi padang too. I recommend padang sakato, to the right as you leave the gate beside the minimart. There are no utensils, so bring your own. The service was okay. They changed my room when I pointed out that people outside could see in, and I didn’t want to swim where everyone could watch. The villas are managed by oyo, and booking on the oyo app is usually cheaper. The unit is far from the gate, about 500 m, and the minimart is another 500 m away, so bring a vehicle. If you don’t have one, ask reception for a contact number because the room phone doesn’t work. Buy whatever you need before heading in. There were lots of flies and small insects at noon, so I’d bring insect spray such as baygon. When I sprayed the toilet at night, I found two cockroaches. The pillow was dirty and there was a bloodstain on the bed, so bring something to cover it or ask for a replacement. I opened my door at noon and a cat came in from nowhere.
