OYO 1051 De Loran Hotel

After COVID, with all the strain the hospitality business has been through and is still going through, De Loran has done its best to keep up its standards. At around IRp 130,000 when I wrote this, it’s still a good alternative to renting a small, expensive villa nearby. The bathrooms need maintenance, there’s no hot water in the mornings, and some room fixtures and fittings don’t work. Before that, I found the management and staff professional, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The site was purpose-built less than a year ago and well designed. The bedding was excellent, the mattress very comfortable, and the room exceptionally clean, though the shower room and toilet were a little grubby. It’s a superb base for attractions south of there, less than 15 minutes from the nearest large market town to the west and about 30 minutes from Kota Singaraja. I highly recommend it.

The staff are what make this hotel such good value. They were very friendly and went out of their way to help with everything. I stayed four nights on my own, and the manager was concerned I might get tricked by local salespeople.

It’s just low-priced accommodation with average service, if that’s the lowest rating available. There’s no food or other service provided. The room is clean, and the hotel area is well maintained.

The room was nice and clean, but the shower water smelled a little. You have to pay in cash, as there are no bank facilities, so come prepared.
