Villa Mahkai's garden, pool, and sea view are stunning, and the staff gave us excellent service. We really did enjoy our time there, but several things need attention. A number of appliances and fittings weren't working properly, including the safes, toilet flushes, faucets, curtains, and wardrobe doors. At times there was a sewage smell in the rooms, cockroaches in the kitchen, and weak Wi-Fi. Staff tried to fix what they could, but management needs to upgrade things. The neighbor sometimes sings karaoke loudly. Staff don't work on Sundays or public holidays, so there's no cooking or cleaning then. We also had difficulty communicating with Palm Living, especially when asking for a car rental quote. They insisted on charging a 3% bank fee that turned out not to be required, and we had to point this out several times. After we posted a review, they argued with us and said we were wrong. We had a positive stay, but people should know this isn't a 5-star villa and that disputes with Palm Living may be difficult.

Kadek was waiting with food when we arrived late on Saturday, and what a star. Our driver Komang was great too. We can't thank Kadek, Fitri, Indri, and all the staff enough for giving us such a fantastic holiday. The villa was amazing and everything felt perfect, with a warm welcome from the team. If you're visiting Bali, I'd recommend staying here. It's simply the best.

There are three separate buildings for our extended family of nine, which gave us a lovely balance of time together and privacy. The main house has two bedrooms, plus there are two more units with two bedrooms each; every room is private. Shops are a drive away, but the staff can arrange whatever you need, including a great driver. You pick dinner from a menu and they shop for the ingredients, then cook it for you. You pay for the groceries and get the change back. There isn't food in the cupboards, so bring snacks for hungry teenagers until you get settled.

We wished we could've stayed longer at this dream home, with its beautiful grounds and kind, helpful staff. It's about half an hour west of the Lovina area, a nice place to relax by the pools and enjoy the delicious food the staff prepare. Ask them to arrange water for the cooler. We also had massage therapists come over, nine of them so our whole group could have massages at once. Walking along the shore at sunset was lovely.
