Villa Mandalay

We had such a great time with our family group this year, 23 people and three babies, that we’re sure to return soon. We’d stayed in the smaller four-bedroom villa for our holidays last year, and it was so good we chose it again for our yearly family gathering. Thanks to all the warm-hearted staff!

The manager, chef, and staff onsite were professional and friendly. This villa works well for a big family or group, with spacious rooms and two separate sections: one has four bedrooms and the other has seven, for 11 in total. Each section has its own large swimming pool, and you can rent either section or the whole villa depending on what you need.

The staff are good, and the villa is in a perfect location. It’s big and sunny, and the seven bedrooms worked for our group. It was built in 2006, though, and the furniture needs renewal. I’m giving it one star because of what happened in April 2022. We rented the villa for two months, our longest stay since 2016, then extended for another month. Two weeks into the extension, the owner arrived with his family and told us to check out on 7.04, even though we had planned to stay until 22.04. It seriously disrupted our plans in Bali. The owner first said the villa had been booked and paid for by other people through the site. It turned out his family and friends were coming, and we were simply kicked out. He even brought the police, saying we were having a party and the neighbors had called them. The management company also didn’t pay our agent the commission for the two-week extension. This was completely out of line with customer relations.

The welcoming Javanese statue at the front door is lovely. The place is nice and calming, and the staff are friendly.
