Hotel O Ari Beach Inn

I should've read the reviews before booking. We arrived around 12 in the afternoon and were told the rooms weren't clean, which was understandable. We asked if we could leave our luggage and come back. They first said yes, but just as we were heading out, the reception guy said he hadn't done that before and needed to check with the owner. Five minutes later, he offered us another room for 150,000. There was also a sign at reception saying ‘BOOKING ON LINE FULL’. They asked us to cancel online because they get most of it in commission. I explained that the booking was non refundable, but they wouldn't understand. After a lot of negotiation we paid, since we didn't want to waste more time. The room was horrible. Avoid this place by any means.

We'd paid in advance through Agoda for two nights, but when we arrived the hotel demanded another 900,000, saying the Agoda price was wrong. If that price was incorrect, why hadn't the hotel contacted Agoda to fix it? This issue has apparently been going on for years. It felt dishonest and misleading.

The beach is close, which was the one good thing. I was charged 25% extra on arrival for a room I'd already booked and paid for through Booking.com 😡. I wrote to Booking 5 times, but only got a “robot reply” telling me to call, even though I'd already explained exactly what happened. Terrible service. The room looked nothing like the online photos. The sink leaked, the tap sprayed into the room, and the mirror was so dirty I couldn't see myself. I will NEVER come back. Unfortunately, this was also my first experience with Bali.

Really scam hotel. I booked 28 days, and when I went there they asked for extra money, about Rp80.000 per night. They also wanted me to cancel my online booking and pay cash, but there'd be no refund. Please don't book this hotel.
