Khrisna Hs And Cottages

Dear fellow travellers, I felt harassed here and would tell you to stay elsewhere. The receptionist was extremely rude and abusive. I meant to book for two nights, but he insisted the place wasn’t listed on agoda, even though you can see that it is listed now. Then he started shouting and swearing, and wouldn’t have a normal conversation. Please don’t run a homestay if this is how you treat guests.

We stayed in a cottage beside the pool as a family with our 11-year-old, and had a great time at Khrisna Hs and Cottages. It felt reasonably private, though privacy may depend on which cottage you get. The staff were all friendly, and we didn’t have a problem with the few bugs and geckos in our room. That’s part of nature in Sidemen. The location is roughly in the middle of town, so we could walk to lots of places. After a walk, the pool was wonderfully refreshing, and we also enjoyed a massage by the pool.

Such a good find in Sidemen. It’s tucked into the jungle, but you can still walk to at least half a dozen restaurants, and there’s a great convenience store right next door. The family who run the place are extremely friendly and accommodating. There’s a big, clean, refreshing pool ringed with passion fruit vines, plus air conditioning, fans and a great shower. A huge bargain for what you get.

The staff were very friendly and the place was clean, but I wouldn’t stay here again. We were in the corner twin room, and the terrace had no privacy. The double room beside it was just as exposed, and the two spaces almost faced each other, so we could see the neighbors and hear every word they said. The bathroom was outside our room, too. To reach it, we had to cross the terrace in full view of the other room, which felt very uncomfortable. The bamboo beds were small and hard, and made a loud crackling sound whenever we moved. WiFi didn’t reach inside the room and was weak on the terrace. The food was mostly very bland, despite trying four or five dishes from the menu. The spring rolls were genuinely good. None of the rooms has a real view, and I think opening up the garden a bit could help. For value, I’d give it 6.5 out of ten. I live in Bali and won’t be back.
