Breakfast was generous and delicious, with a lovely view across the countryside. The rooms were refreshed daily, and fresh water was provided in glass bottles. The accommodation looks out over rice fields, and Sundari Restaurant is among the many nearby warungs. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Sidemen’s main tourist area.

The included breakfast was the best I’ve had in Bali, and the restaurant has a great range of food, all of it excellent. The garden is immaculate, and there’s a fantastic pool. Our room was large and clean, with a valley view and Mount Agung in the distance. The staff were lovely. I’d highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant.

The staff were consistently friendly, polite, and helpful, and my wife loved having massages each morning, which she thought were the best. We ate every meal at the restaurant, with its rice field and Mt Agung views, and the food was really good. Our balcony overlooked peaceful villages and fields. We could hear some road traffic, but enjoyed feeling part of the village’s daily rhythm. The room was clean and worked well, with comfortable AC, a handy little fridge, and a reasonably comfortable bed. Hot water was hard to get, though that was the case everywhere we stayed in Indonesia. Don’t miss a walk through the rice fields while you’re in Sidemen!

We ended up adding two nights to our original two-night booking because we loved it so much. Our connected family room suited the four of us perfectly, with a balcony offering a gorgeous view. It was comfortable, clean, and had good facilities. The pool was spotless and wonderful, and every dish we tried at the restaurant was well prepared and good quality, with spectacular views from there too. Everyone on staff, from housekeeping and reception to the restaurant team, was caring and kind to our children, making the stay really special. There are shops, massage places, silver courses, and warungs within a five-minute walk, plus a local market about ten minutes away, so it’s ideal if you want to enjoy Sidemen without your own transport. Recent renovations mean some older reviews may no longer apply. During our stay, the massage area was the last part being renovated. It didn’t disturb us, and it looks like it’ll be beautiful when finished. We’d absolutely recommend staying here!
