Halogen Hotel

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. It’s less than about 10 kilometers from Juanda Airport in Surabaya, and there’s a free airport shuttle. I highly recommend it for travelers.

Renovation noise made it impossible to get any peace here. It sounded like a hammer hitting metal for hours, both in the afternoon and again in the morning, and I woke up to it. The room wasn’t very clean either: stains on the bedsheets, a partly cleaned bathroom, and disgusting spots on the chair. When I ordered food, I paid the staff and they gave me the wrong change, as if they were trying to keep some money. The Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect at all. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had.

We chose halogen because we needed to stay near the airport while traveling through Surabaya on the way from Java to Bali. It turned out to be a great choice. The staff were fantastic, and the food was excellent and very inexpensive for its quality. The room was what you’d expect at a business-focused hotel, and I really appreciated the daily cleaning. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a moderate-budget place.

I slept well during my transit here. The room was clean and bright, and there was a hot shower. Staff were professional and helpful, and the free airport shuttle was provided. I’d choose this place again when I need a rest during a transit at Juanda Airport.
