Keong Sari Guest House

We stayed five nights with our one-year-old in the Hibiscus Room, and it was a beautiful stay. The room had a good view and a shared kitchen that was always available. Rooms are cleaned daily, and the staff were helpful. It felt safe even when we got back late at night. The rooms are well built and maintained, surrounded by dense greenery. It’s about 15 minutes by scooter to central Ubud, and scooters are easy to get. Some reviews call it a jungle view, which could sound scary or misleading, but it wasn’t really a jungle, just very thick greenery. One issue for Eka: we brought our own utensils, but the shared kitchen cookware wasn’t clean or up to standard. It could be difficult for someone who needs to use it.

The caretaker was really helpful and accommodating, and my room had a kitchen and appliances right in front. It’s a very pretty place. It is a bit far from the attractions, though that may be what you’re after. I’d recommend it if the location works for you.

It had everything we needed, and they went out of their way to look after us. The host was lovely, and the caretakers were really nice. They even took us to a special ceremony that happens once every 5 years. We loved staying here, it felt like our little home. It’s quiet and outside the city, which is how we prefer it. We really enjoyed our stay and felt right at home. The place was amazing, well equipped, and well maintained. The owners were wonderful, responsive, and helpful, and the location was great too.
