Villa Puri Cili Silakarang

The pool was lovely, with plenty of tables to sit and relax, though there were no sunbeds. It was otherwise very quiet, apart from hearing people walk around and outdoor sounds, mostly crickets, because the place isn't well insulated. The villa was spacious, with a little terrace facing the garden. Inside, there's an entry area with a table and two chairs, plus a kitchen with the basics. The furniture is new and looks nice, and the room was clean. But the building itself feels old, with scraped walls, a few cobwebs, and small bits of damage. The towels weren't white anymore, which gave them a slightly dirty look, and the sheets were torn in a couple of tiny spots and looked grey or beige. The bathroom bothered me most. It was clean, but the old, stained, scraped bathtub didn't feel comfortable to use. At least there was hot water. It's quite isolated, so there isn't much nearby to do, though there are a few restaurants and a market. We stayed one night, which was fine for that. I wouldn't choose it for a longer visit, but the price makes sense. We were there at the end of November, so perhaps that explains how empty it felt. We arrived to a place with nobody around, didn't see anyone all day, and only noticed someone late in the evening, probably the caretaker, turning off the lights.
