The room at Hotel Kaliban Batam was comfortable and clean. The air conditioning had a problem when I arrived, but the staff responded quickly and fixed it professionally. Moni and all the girls at the front desk deserve a special thank you. They were friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout, and made the stay much more enjoyable. Thanks to the whole team for the hospitality. It was a pleasant stay.

My 14-year-old nephew injured his leg on a sharp, broken bed frame, and the hotel didn’t take full responsibility. They failed to provide a basic safe environment. A horrible experience.

The location was great, near a tasty seafood restaurant, a pharmacy, an alphamart, and right in front of an indomart. Staff were kind and friendly. They gave us a welcome drink, and let us leave our luggage in the lobby after checkout while we looked around. Breakfast was decent and worth the money. I booked a family room but got upgraded to a suite. The receptionist said there’d be snacks in the room, but there weren’t, and we were okay with that. The air conditioning was broken, but they fixed it the next day. I’d checked in late in the evening.

The staff were the redeeming part: very polite and accommodating. The location was good too. But the bed was very hard, the AC wasn’t strong, and the shower pressure was low. Worst of all, the towel had a couple of red stains from an unknown source. Even when they changed it for a new towel, the stains were still there.
