The pool was a highlight: spotless and beautiful, with a frangipani tree leaning over part of it for shade. The water was just the right temperature, and there’s a small kids’ pool as well as a larger one. The big pool goes from about 1.3 meters to deeper water, where I couldn’t touch the bottom at one end, though I’m 1.6 meters tall. You could swim laps in it if you wanted. We had deluxe ground floor rooms overlooking the pool, and adjoining rooms were available too. Nirwana Seaside Cottages is right by the dolphin statue, close to the beachfront bars, eateries, and shops. The waterways and ponds could use a thorough clean, though I didn’t see any mosquitoes while we were there, and there were fish in the ponds. All in all, a lovely stay at Niwana.

A great place to stay, with breakfast included in the room rate. It’s right by the beach and a stone’s throw from the iconic Lovina dolphin statue. The staff are friendly and the owner is helpful, and there’s a huge green garden and a great swimming pool. The rooms are getting a bit dated, and the bathroom could use a makeover, but everything was clean and the linens smelled fresh and nice.

The location is great and the pool is big and nice, though it could be cleaner. The room itself wasn’t clean, and the bathroom was full of ants. Breakfast was terrible too, with dead ants in the scrambled eggs. For what we paid, the rooms cost too much. I really don’t recommend it.

Lovina’s first hotel is a little old, but it has a nice, peaceful feel. I hope the owner gives this historic place more attention. I’d come back to get away from the outside world :-).

A cozy, quiet spot with lots of greenery and a good pool. The staff are friendly, and it’s near the beach. The ponds are pretty dirty and should be cleaned up.
