Villa Lumbalumba Banyualit

The rooms were clean, spacious, and cosy, and the pool was small but nice. The accommodation is near the beach, and the massage services were great and affordable. We had a great experience. Just be aware that although reception is advertised as open 24 hours, after 5pm it’s a security guard on duty.

The room was big and nice, and breakfast tasted good, but check-in and check-out were both terrible. At check-in, the doorman didn’t seem to know guests were arriving and disputed that I had a booking. Something very similar happened to me in Lovina a year earlier at a different villa: they said I had no booking, then found it on the computer and complained that I’d disturbed them on their day off 😅 At checkout, they demanded 5,000 for a small bottle of water. I don’t think that’s reasonable: it’s pretty standard worldwide to provide two small bottles free, and any charge should be clearly displayed. My impression is that Lovina has a bit of a tourism problem. It seems to want more money while taking little mosquito-like bites from tourists. Even going to Lovina beach can be an ordeal because the sellers use aggressive tactics. That makes visitors less likely to return, and the attitude becomes a vicious circle. Maybe it’s time for a change of tune.

Our room felt like its own private villa, with direct access to the lovely pool area. We especially liked the outdoor sitting space. The place is gorgeous, and the staff were really friendly and nice. We also enjoyed the cats who live there, and the cute little geckos. Breakfast was wonderful, made fresh right next to you. We’d absolutely come back!

We had the family room, and everything was perfect. The facilities were clean, the staff kind and attentive, and breakfast was delicious. They even have the sweetest cat 😻. I’ll definitely recommend this lovely place.
