I stayed here for six months. The two staff members were caring and helpful, the security felt very safe, and the place is easy to find on the main road. There’s space for physical activity, the ensuite bathroom is very clean, and the newer building has a South Bali feel, which is a plus. One younger female staff member was especially kind and even offered to drive me to work. I could have tipped her if I’d accepted. I’m giving four stars because the owner raised the price even though we referred two friends for another six months. I thought a referral might mean a discount, but no. The way it was said felt harsh, especially after I’d paid on time for six months straight. The owner kept bugging us for payment whenever it was due, as if we wouldn’t pay. We’re from Jakarta and had the money. We’re Muslim, and we always fulfill our promises, we don’t walk away owing money. After my six-month stay, they also tried to charge me 300.000 rupiah per day for two extra days, since I still had to work nearby at the community health puskesmas, 1 km from malawa. My new place was 20 km away, and they knew I didn’t have accommodation. The staff didn’t help us move our luggage. An older woman knocked repeatedly every day during my six months just to chat, which I didn’t want, as I’m introverted and didn’t like my personal time being interrupted. The security guy also lied about buying indomie noodle and charged 20.000 instead of the real price of 5000, without an egg. I don’t like being lied to. I’d rather give a tip voluntarily because it’s my money. The refrigerator was too small for 20-40 rooms and barely cool, so food spoiled fast. There was no freezer. Those experiences were bad enough that I considered giving three stars instead.

The room was clean, and check-in and check-out went smoothly. It’s easy to find on the main road in Singaraja Lovina.

It’s easy to get around from here, and there are tours nearby.
