Villa Cahaya

What made the stay special was the care from Gede and Putu, who made us wonderful meals. Putu is the best chef we've encountered in Bali, and she's so kind and thoughtful. Komang shared useful local information, suggested things to do, and drove us whenever we needed. The villa itself has four roomy bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, two terraces, and lots of places to unwind indoors or outside. We loved the large pool and sunset views, along with the spacious but private garden and its flowers. One small suggestion for a better first impression: replace the towels, which are quite stained despite being well washed.

Putu looked after us so well, cooking the Balinese food we'd hoped for and sharing plenty about the local culture. She really went out of her way to make us feel at home. Komang was also a big help with tours, rides, and ideas for what to do. We spent ten days at Villa Cahaya, a peaceful place with everything we needed to relax. Thanks to the whole team for making our first Bali trip so memorable.

Putu made delicious local meals to suit what we liked, with garden fruit at breakfast and different evening menus for the adults and kids. The wine selection was interesting, too. Koman took us on day trips to waterfalls, Buddhist temples, old villages, and rice and coffee plantations, and arranged snorkeling along Bali's northern coast. We were two families staying for two weeks in July 2019, and the layout worked really well for us. The two main houses can sleep eight, with enough privacy for two groups. All four bedrooms are spacious, clean, and tastefully furnished in modern Bali style. Each has its own bathroom, one with an outdoor shower, and two have separate dressing rooms. We also enjoyed the clear pool in the cared-for garden, and watching the sunset toward Java from a terrace was a daily highlight. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Villa Cahaya was a lovely place for a relaxed tropical holiday, and we'd definitely recommend it.

The four bedrooms are split between two buildings, which gives families or friends plenty of privacy. Outside, there's a private garden looking over native greenery and rice fields toward the sea, plus a roomy infinity pool with sunbeds and a gazebo. Villa Cahaya is built in Balinese style among tropical plants, with modern facilities and attentive staff.
