Metro Inn

The staff were all kind, especially at reception. They helped with requests and even replied quickly on WhatsApp. Parking was sufficient, and guards were around 24 hours, so we didn’t worry about safety. There’s hot water from a dispenser in the main lobby. The hotel also has a simple menu and sells snacks in the lobby. Room rates are affordable, including peak season in my opinion, though prices are different then. The location is within walking distance of the city and lots of places to eat, with both halal and non-halal choices. We had a smooth experience from booking through checkout and would stay here again on our next visit to Singkawang. I booked a Family Room for an event in the city, then made another booking before heading home. The first room, Room 309, was spacious, smelled nice, clean, and had complete amenities. Room 303 was a bit less good: the toilet door caught on the floor, the main door wouldn’t close unless locked, and we found a fake eyelash on the bed, so the sheets may not have been changed.
