Dom Hotel Jogja

I stayed here with my mother at the end of 2022, when most hotels in the Yogyakarta area were fully booked and prices were very high. I booked through Agoda. There’s no elevator, so I wouldn’t recommend bringing parents or a toddler. The room was small, cramped, and dirty. The receptionist was on her phone when I wanted to check out and didn’t acknowledge us. It seemed someone was hoping to book a room at a higher price than the one I got on Agoda, and she looked at me cynically. After about 10 minutes or more, her friend noticed us waiting at reception and politely asked what we needed. The receptionist had been like that since check-in. Only the security staff were friendly. If you want good hospitality, I think you should book directly.

I’ve been a regular here ever since. It’s the cheapest One-Star hotel, but the service feels Five-Star, and the staff are well-trained professionals. I’ve tried every room category, and they were all tidy and clean. If you order food here, I recommend trying it all.

The friendly staff did their jobs properly during my 2night stay while I was waiting for a PCR test before going to Japan. The hotel was helpful for an urgent stay, but the room was too small and not soundproof, so outside noise and sounds from the neighboring rooms came through. The parking area was too narrow. The toilet was especially frustrating: the water failed to come out 3/4 times over the two nights. There’s no towel holder or shower cover, so the toilet gets wet while showering. The AC didn’t work properly and was noisy, the television often had problems, and the Wi-Fi needs a speed upgrade. Thank you very much😊🇮🇩🇯🇵

For the price, it was okay. The room was a bit cramped, there was no window, and the hotel Wi-Fi was very slow. There wasn’t a trash can in the room, though there was one in the bathroom. I didn’t see an elevator, so I wouldn’t recommend it for older people.
