INNSiDE by Meliá Yogyakarta

The room I booked was spacious, though it hadn't been cleaned properly when I arrived. I told the receptionist, and the staff quickly cleaned it again, apologized, and offered a complimentary gesture. I appreciated how promptly they handled it. The hotel has quite complete facilities, and although it's a little far from the city's main attractions, getting there by private transport is easy. I hope they improve their service standards, especially cleanliness.

I went up to the rooftop around 7pm hoping to have a drink and enjoy the view, but it was completely empty. Staff downstairs said it should stay open later, so I’m not sure what happened. It looked like it could be a great spot, which made that a bit of a missed chance. For a business trip, the room worked well: modern, clean, and maintained, with a spotless bathroom, strong shower pressure, comfortable pillows and sheets, and fast, stable internet for working at night. I also got some work done in the breakfast restaurant area, which had decent lighting and was comfortable for using a laptop. Breakfast had the variety and taste I expected for this hotel class, nothing special but nothing bad. I slept poorly that night, so maybe my grumpy, tired self judged the croissants unfairly. Let’s blame the insomnia, not the kitchen. The room’s white, minimal design was clean and modern, though a little plain for me. Others might like that look. Overall, it was a reliable, comfortable stay in Yogyakarta, and I’d consider coming back.

The speakers were the one problem, with a persistent static sound during the event that got distracting. Apart from that, everything was great. The place felt spacious and welcoming, with enough decoration that it didn’t seem empty. The people serving us were kind, did their jobs well, and brought tasty food.

I really liked spending time by the pool. It was clean, relaxing, and well looked after, and the friendly staff were always ready with towels, drinks, or whatever I needed. The atmosphere was great for just unwinding and enjoying the day. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the stay, highly recommended!
