Tiara Homestay Pemuteran

Tiara and her family made me feel at home throughout my four nights in Pemuteran. They were kind, professional, spoke great English, and made everything easy. At check-in Tiara showed me the room, garden, and restaurant area, and gave me lots of suggestions for things to see and do. She also left menus with prices in the rooms, so I could plan meals and order dinner for whatever time suited me. That was great after a full day snorkeling when I didn't feel like searching for a restaurant. I could pay each time I ordered or settle up at the end. Every morning after breakfast they asked whether I wanted the room cleaned, a small thing I really liked. I was a solo guest in a double room with a private bathroom, and I loved the open-air bathroom for the holiday feeling. If insects bother you, shower before dark when you can see better. The hot water was limited, but in that heat I didn't mind. The bed was very comfortable and had mosquito netting. There was a wardrobe with room for two people's things, and the indoor sink and mirror area was also roomy enough for two. Each room has a little private terrace where you can sit outside with a drink. The peaceful garden was a lovely place to start the day, with dogs and chicks wandering around. At first, the gravel path from the main road made me worry it might be far from everything, but the place is a good walkable distance from the beach, restaurants, and bars while still being quiet. It was about 15-20 minutes to the beach and 10-15 minutes to the main road. The walls are thin, though, so light sleepers may want earplugs if the neighbors are noisy. My only regret is not staying longer. Terima kasih banyok Tiara and family !!!

The only thing to keep in mind is the heat in a fan room. The fan didn't reach the bed well, so if you're not used to the heat, I'd book a room with AC. Portable fans could be a helpful addition for the owner. Otherwise, this was an incredible homestay, run by a wonderful family who were there for us whenever we needed anything. It was clean and quiet, and just a few minutes' walk from a romantic beach with amazing sunsets. Thanks for the hospitality. I'll definitely return. 🔝

You get what you pay for here, and I thought it was still good value, especially for a private room. The owner was helpful, and I'd consider booking again while backpacking on a budget. Some of the reviews seemed a bit hyped, so here's what I found. The sheets and towels had some questionable discoloration, and the floor was wet when I checked in. The staff member was nice and let me get on the bed while she mopped up my footprints, but the floor was still wet afterward. The tap kept dripping. The outdoor shower only had cold water, which wasn't a big deal except that I was diving at night. The electricity went out twice during my two nights. Laundry was $25k/kg; a small bag with two denim shorts cost me $50k. I also had a medium-sized gecko as a roommate. Breakfast was $25k, and the omelette was overcooked.

The staff are exceptional and always look after guests. Check when you book whether AC is included. If it isn't, you can add it later for a little extra. This was our third time in Bali, and if we return to Pemuteran, we'll definitely stay at this homestay again.
