I chose to stay here for a night after a friend mentioned that Plaosan was another place to visit besides Prambanan. The location worked well, near the bus station and Prambanan, and inside it was quiet with excellent WiFi. The receptionist was a warm, pleasant person to talk with and always ready to help. I thought he was the owner, though I found out in the morning he wasn't. One downside was that the room outlet didn't work and damaged my phone charger, so I ended up paying twice as much for the stay. The receptionist and I went out late in the evening to buy a replacement, which wasn't cheap. There was no hot water in the shower either, though that was easier to put up with in the morning than at night.

I felt safe staying here, and the owner and his family were really friendly. The temple, markets, and restaurants are all close enough to walk to. I borrowed a bicycle from the owner to explore, and made coffee in the shared kitchen. The facilities are basic, but the price is affordable.

You can pick a room with AC or a fan, and the room, kitchen, and toilet were clean enough. Parking is the problem, and cars can be a nuisance in the narrow alley.
