Modern Chic Room at Gendis Homestay

With a budget of 200,000 Rupiah for a place in Yogyakarta, this Fixxxxxx is worth considering. It's close to everything, warm, homey, and not just for fun. I stayed on the top floor yesterday and someone was smoking despite the clear “No smoking” signs everywhere. I told them off, but they ignored me. It was really annoying, sob. Not every visitor is sane, right? The staff could have checked on me a few times, or put up a sign saying there'd be a fine for smoking. I only chose this place to leave my things outside, so it didn't bother me that much. Overall, it's okay, great.

This was my first family vacation. It's a long way from Jakarta, but the place was quite nice. The rooms, food, and service were all okay. Recommended. Thanks.

I rented this guesthouse for two days at the end of my Yogyakarta vacation, for IDR 400,000. The building is sturdy and the rooms are modern, very nice, and fully furnished. Maybe it used to be a wealthy person's home, or perhaps it was built as an investment. It's outside the city center, just off the Ring Road, tucked into a village alley. For a backpacker from out of town without a private vehicle, getting here and staying here would be difficult. The building is on the outskirts, but it has very few Javanese touches, like joglo features or Javanese ornaments. The mineral water bottles are tiny, around 240ml. Since the place is a bit pricey, spending a few thousand rupiah on a 600ml bottle would be preferable. One more personal gripe: the toilet is very clean, but the floor looks too modern. Could the floor use pebbles, a rough texture, or black cement to feel more natural?
