It's in a peaceful, beautiful spot away from the city rush, but getting around is still easy, and there are lots of hiking options nearby. We loved our stay here, one of the best places to stay in Java. The place is cute, cozy, and has an incredible volcano view. There's a restaurant with great food and drinks, and breakfast was generous and delicious. The staff were really kind and helpful. Thanks for everything!

At Homestay Mak Cik, the hosts were welcoming and ready to help, and the food was delicious. The price is reasonable, check-in was quick and easy, and guests get two bottles of mineral water daily. Staff will also refill your tumbler for free if you ask. The grounds have lots of plants, and if you're lucky, you may get a view of Mount Merapi. There's a one-meter-deep swimming pool and car hire for trips to nearby areas. A few things could be better. The tissue rolls are kept in a box that's awkward to use. Some shower holes are clogged, so the water pressure is low, and you have to turn on the wash basin water to get the shower working properly. There's no soundproofing, so you can hear other guests and nearby live music on Saturday nights. Breakfast isn't free, and you need to ask about the menu the night before, especially since the property is remote and there aren't breakfast places nearby. Our bedroom light was broken, so we had to use a flashlight at night, and the electric kettle looked dusty enough that we didn't use it. Even with those inconveniences, we had a pleasant stay. The scenery, friendly hosts, and tasty food make it a worthwhile option if you're flexible.
