The friendly staff were the best part of my stay at Ndalem Gusti Ayu. It’s in a great spot, with plenty of places to eat within walking distance and Pakuwon mall nearby. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds, and the bathrooms are clean with hot water. The whole place has fast, free Wi-Fi. There are water dispensers in several areas, and the common space has a fridge for food and drinks, along with plates, utensils, and a big table for eating takeout. The Balinese/Javanese decor is beautiful and gives the place a peaceful feel. If you’re looking for a stay in Yogyakarta, I wouldn’t look elsewhere.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and I felt comfortable during my stay. I’m visiting Indonesia as a tourist and have had trouble finding hotels that are good and especially clean, so this one was a great find for the price. Cleanliness mattered most to me. The rooms were pretty clean, nearly perfect, though not quite.

The shower pressure was good and the air conditioning worked well. It’s a nice hostel, with helpful staff and decent rooms. My only issue was the lack of an outside-facing window, since the only window looked into the indoor lobby.
