No mosquitoes, which was great, but the rest of the villa needs work. We stayed 4 days at Villa Padi Pakem in the 4-bedroom unit. The building needs renovation, the kitchen was a bit run down, and the beds were uncomfortable. Water pressure was very low. There were lots of ants, and the sheets were thin and pillows not fluffy. The pool was green while we were there, then they cleaned it just as we were about to leave, so maybe you’ll get lucky. It was probably a great villa once, but it needs renovation now.

This small villa is on the way to Mt Merapi and suits a short stay for a group of about 6-10 people. The interior is nice, and the open kitchen and dining area beside the pool has enough space for a small party. There’s also a little fireplace where you can hang out with friends or family.

The manager, cecilia, arranged a driver and a sunrise Merapi tour for us at great value. We were 8 people from Malaysia and stayed 2 nights in Mac 2017. It was a cozy place, pleasantly far from the city, surrounded by paddy fields and near the Mt Merapi area.
