It feels creepy now...

I booked an overnight stay through a Traveloka promo. The room was decent for a budget apartment, with a small fridge, stove, cooking and eating utensils, a water dispenser with a gallon jug, basic toiletries, and towels. The water heater and AC worked well, and the pool was pretty good. The room and bathroom weren’t very clean, though. There was mold, moss, and scratching. The blanket felt thin and only big enough for one, despite the double-sized bed. There was also a balcony for smoking. The drive in was a bit rough. I took a small road off the main Babarsari-Seturan road, but it was dirt and had deep puddles in the rain. On the way back I found another small road that was paved, so use that one to get there. Parking is in the basement, and the apartment has two management offices without clear directions to the front desk. Once there, you’re given an access key. Service was average, and staff seemed unfriendly and unsmiling. The elevator felt stuffy. Please pay attention to the lighting and smell. The hallway was dim and quiet. After checking out and posting social media stories, I saw lots of people saying the apartment was “haunted.” I admit it did feel a little spooky. Maybe it would have seemed less scary if I’d paid attention to the lighting and the state of the walls.

I’d already booked the apartment before checking Google reviews, which were generally bad, so I expected it to be shabby. From outside, it looked that way, especially the unfinished-looking parking area with no dividing wall. I’d resigned myself to it by the time I reached the room, but inside it was fairly clean and smelled nice. The bathroom was okay, though the shower wasn’t, and there were no towels. The AC was cold but made some noise. The sheets were a little yellow, the blanket thin, and the balcony door was broken. I couldn’t tell what the lock was, but it was very hard to secure. My room was on the 6th floor, with a city view, luckily not a cemetery view. Outside noise came through very clearly and disturbed my sleep a bit. I stayed January 28-30. Alhamdulillah, I didn’t have many disappointments during the stay.

The place felt more like a boarding house, and cleanliness was a real problem. There were cockroaches on the bed, and the sheets were filthy with lots of cigarette holes, so I asked for fresh ones straight away. The bathroom lighting was very dim, the hallways looked neglected, almost like an abandoned building, and the swimming pool was beyond words. The receptionist stayed seated while serving me and seemed like she didn't want to talk. At least the cleaning staff were polite and friendly. My mistake, I guess, for expecting more at that price 😅
