Fresh Hotel

For under 500k a night, this is one of the better budget hotels in town. The service was awesome. Breakfast was just OK.

The kids and our elderly relatives enjoyed the pool and the morning view, and we had enough space to park, including in the basement. There’s an elevator, too, so a room on a higher floor is no problem. We generally enjoyed our stay, though breakfast was limited. Most of us didn’t finish it and wanted to get a proper breakfast outside. The rooftop view of the mountains and hills was still a lovely way to start the morning. We stayed during Idul Fitri, choosing the hotel because of its affordable rate and swimming pool before continuing to another city the next day. We booked two Superior rooms, one smoking and one non-smoking, plus a Deluxe on the second floor so our group could stay together. We had three elderly people and a toddler with us. The pool was small but clear and clean, and there were two changing rooms with showers for rinsing off. The bathrooms in all the rooms were generally clean and everything worked. The Superior rooms had no windows and felt a bit musty. The Deluxe had a window, but room 201 smelled like bathroom or sewer odor, perhaps because the exhaust or sewer wasn’t maintained properly. The Deluxe bed was better. The AC looked rough but cooled the room well. If you can, ask for a room at the front rather than the back to avoid the sewer smell.

A good place to stay for business or a vacation around Sukabumi.

My four-star rating is for the Executive room on the third floor, the highest level. It’s in the new part of the building, and the room is very spacious, clean, and has a clean, dry bathroom. The rooftop is a quiet, relaxing place to hang out. Breakfast is very standard, though, and I hope they keep the whole hotel clean.
