RedDoorz Plus at Wisma Kenanga Sukabumi

I booked a Superior room through Traveloka because the listing showed a bathtub, but when I got there, the room didn't have one. The app needs to match the actual room at the property. I was also surprised by the state of the grounds: the front looked poorly maintained, the pool was empty and dirty, and the backyard grass was tall.

The grounds are spacious, and the location is handy, close to the city center and right by the main road. I stayed at Wisma Kenanga from April 13-14, 2024, and paid around 600k, maybe because it was Eid. The place could be a really nice place to stay if it were given some attention, but many plants were neglected, neither the swimming pool nor the fish pond worked, and there were lots of old ornaments and equipment. Personally, the wooden statue by the door and the two stone statues near the garden made the atmosphere feel uncomfortable 🙏

After I protested, they did give me a Family room, but the whole booking experience felt misleading. I had booked a Family room through the Reddoorz app and was first assigned a regular one. The front office said app bookings didn't get Family rooms because the app rate was lower than the actual rate. If room types get different treatment, they shouldn't be presented as options in the app. The room was a bit dusty, with a queen bed and a single bed. There was a bathtub, but it was rusty and unusable, and the water smelled rusty too. No hot water in the bathroom. They provided only towels and two small bottles of mineral water, with no soap or toothbrush. The hotel is otherwise quite recommendable, but be careful booking through the app to avoid getting scammed. Sorry 🙏

The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, and for the price I thought the room was pretty good. Mine had a fan and a TV that turned on but had no programs. The toilet was okay, and the hot water worked. There's plenty of parking for both motorbikes and cars, plus a tennis court that's spacious and in decent shape. The swimming pool was there but had no water. It's easy to get around from this roadside location, and Sukabumi city is very close. This place used to be something else and has become a RedDoorz in recent years.
