The Swaha Ubud Hotel

We stayed at Swaha Hotel Ubud as a family for two weeks and would absolutely come back. The best part was how kind and caring everyone was. Wayan, the owner, even met us at the airport, which felt very personal. The staff were helpful and respectful throughout, and they changed the sheets, pillowcases, and towels every day. Airport transport was reliable and affordable, and the laundry service was handy with kids. They also provided a microwave and portable butane cooker, which made it easy to heat food and prepare simple meals. The hotel is in Batubulan, a quiet local area known for Batik-making and traditional Balinese dance, including the famous fire dance. Bali Bird Park and Bali Zoo are nearby, and Ubud is a short drive away. It made a peaceful base for seeing the area while staying in a more local setting. The pool has a lovely Balinese touch, with water flowing in like the holy water at Tirta Empul. We could hear the gentle flow from our room at night, which added to the calm. Our room was comfortable and spacious enough for a family, though it showed some age. The ceiling paint was starting to peel, but nothing had fallen off. The bathroom worked, though it needs a deep clean and some resealing. The hot water was excellent when we turned the dial all the way. Breakfast is available on request. There are a few things to improve, especially bathroom cleanliness and linen quality. With more attention to cleaning and maintenance, the place could really shine. Even so, the warm people, local feel, and peaceful atmosphere made it a heartfelt and affordable Bali stay for our family.

The owner is very nice. The room comes with an Android TV, microwave, water heater, and even a coffee maker!!!!

The food is delicious, and the owner and staff are helpful and accommodating. If you ask, they’ll stock items for you, and they’re knowledgeable about Bali and happy to suggest things to do each day. The rooms are very well cared for. Just be aware that finding the hotel can be tricky since it’s down a small alley.

It’s a lovely, quiet hotel that seems especially suited to honeymooners. The food is delicious, and you can cook in the room’s mini kitchen. The staff and owner are very polite, and I’d recommend it even though it’s away from the city. They have a motorcycle and a van for getting around, plus a free shuttle to the market and some selected places.
