For Rp 300,000 (USD $17.88), I thought the room was adequate, especially since the gym and swimming pool were free. It's near a university and an airport, though the street is busy and the city is far away. The grounds are very spacious, but parking is outdoors and severe weather could damage a vehicle left there too long. Inside, the room was average and the water heater worked well. The sink was blocked, the walls were quite dirty, there was a stain on the bedsheets, and the ceiling had mould. Water from the closet smelled bad, and the WiFi wasn't very good.

Dust and bits of rubbish had collected under the bedside table, and the floor was dirty. There were lots of ants in the room, and no hanger in the closet.

The restaurant reception could be kinder to guests, and there was a bad smell from the toilet drain. Since this is a Shariah Hotel, I noticed the elevator had no buttons for the 4th or 13th floors. TBH, we shouldn't put faith in that mystical stuff. We stayed in family suites, and the room amenities were fairly complete. The facilities and breakfast were good. It's an old building, but you can tell it must have been luxurious when it was built. For the price and what it offers, we'd consider it a very good option in Surakarta, whether travelling alone or with family.

The staff are nice, though most of them are very young. The room is spacious and comfortable.

The twin room was in acceptable condition, and the TV had a good selection of channels. It's a decent place for travellers, with a restaurant serving local and western food much like other hotels. Being near Adi Soemarmo Airport was convenient for us coming from Malaysia.
