It feels more like a homestay than a hotel, but it’s a good choice if you want somewhere nice at an affordable price. Breakfast is free, and there are more nearby restaurants listed in the Gojek app.

There aren’t many places to choose from in Sumenep. The presidential room looked like it was from the 70s and was quite clean, though the bed was hard. It had hot water and a bathtub, but the shower in my room didn’t work, so I had to bend down to wash. I didn’t have time to use the tub. I wish there’d been a kettle in the room for coffee.

They had a problem with the heater in the presidential suite, so I was asked to move to a VIP room on the second floor. There’s no lift, which meant carrying my luggage up the stairs. The VIP bed was harder than the one in the presidential suite, and the water heater took longer to warm up.

The food was tasty, especially the Madura chicken soto and Madura rawon, and it was affordable. The room was clean enough. The place was okay and quite good, mainly because there weren’t other choices. So far, this has been the best hotel in Sumenep.

The room was large, but it wasn’t very clean. Breakfast was awful, with only soto and fried rice every day.
