The staff were helpful and polite, and the service felt more like a hotel than a hostel. There's free-flowing tea, a kitchen where you can cook, clean bathrooms, and smoking and non-smoking rooms. It was much neater and cleaner than I expected for the price, around 50k-100k a night for a private single room with AC, not a shared dorm. It's right in the heart of Surabaya, not too far from House of Sampoerna, with lots of street food options at night.

The room turned out nice and cozy, and there are cheap shopping spots and plenty of food places nearby. At first, though, it wasn't a good experience: they had stopped using RedDoorz, and my booking couldn't be found because of inconsistent data for bookings made before November 2021. They did get the problem sorted out in the end.

There’s a curfew from 23:00 to 06:30. If you need to check in during that time, let the security guard by the main gate know. The shared bathrooms are small but clean and looked after. The cheapest room is basically a capsule, with a bed, AC and a few other pieces of furniture. It's very basic, but fine if you just need a budget place to sleep.

Clean enough for me, and decent for a one-night stay. Some rooms have no window, though, so if you're claustrophobic, I'd suggest getting a larger room or choosing another hotel.

A low-budget spot for a stopover, whether you need a quick sleep or a moment to sort out your next plans. It's hard to spot from the street during the day, even with GPS, because the building is inside the complex. Ask someone nearby for directions.
