Doubletree By Hilton Surabaya

We celebrated our anniversary here and were greeted with sweet surprises, including a cake and decorations. The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was good too. The hotel is close to Jalan Tunjungan, a handy base for exploring Surabaya. From up high, you can see the city and Tunjungan Plaza.

The surroundings were pleasant, and the service was excellent. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. I did notice marks that looked like foundation and lipstick on the bedsheet, pillowcase, and duvet cover. I can’t tell whether they hadn’t been changed after the previous guest or simply weren’t cleaned properly.

I spent three nights here and thought it was great value, with a great location. The staff were lovely, especially the security staff, who stood outside checking vehicles in heavy rain. Evan at the lobby cafe also made me one of the best coffees I’ve ever had.

You can easily walk from this centrally located hotel to places for oleh-oleh or nearby coffee shops. My room was clean and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There were lots of breakfast options. A small issue came up, but they handled it quickly and with real care. I’d stay here again on my next visit to Surabaya.
